Clearing Your Browser's Cache

If you have difficulty viewing JusticeLearning pages that you previously viewed with no difficulty, it may be because your Internet browser has kept a copy of the old page (or portions of a page) in its cache. These old pieces no longer work with the new technology that drives the Justice Learning site. No need to worry; if you get rid of the old copies new pages will download and, because they are the most current pages, drawing on the current technology, everything will display just as it did before.

What Is a Browser's Cache?
In order to reduce redundant Internet traffic, and to save time for users with slow connections, browsers keep a copy of most every web page (with all the images, forms, and executable program code) they download. The idea is, if you frequently return to the same page, the locally stored - or cached - copy will be used, eliminating the need to download the same pages over and over again. Problems arise, however, when these pages are changed at the point of origin. Now, when you return to a page, the browser may load its cached copy, preventing you from seeing the newest changes!

In our particular case, we have made a rather fundamental change to the technology underlying our website. Some of the content may be the same as that in your browser's cache, but the way the content is loaded has changed. Again, deleting the locally cached copies of JusticeLearning web pages will force the newest versions to be downloaded and cure this problem.
